This lecture opens with a broader outline of the theological & philosophical challenges in reconstructing our Holocaust memory and then puts forward a critique mainly from an educational standpoint: how are we to ensure the perpetual lessons that must be learned from the Holocaust yet refrain from turning this “mysterium tremendum” into a backbone of Jewish identity which might neglect the inner-mechanisms of a Jewish legacy that transcends the Shoah?
