Medical Advances from Jerusalem Exported around the World

Sunday 4 September 2005 at 8 pm

"Medical Advances from Jerusalem Exported around the World"

Shaare Zedek Medical Centre at the forefront of new medical technology and advances, sharing their expertise worldwide and an insight into the workings and developments emunahting from this hospital.

Emunah Hasin wears many hats. She is a nurse, a public relations executive,
a volunteer police patrolwoman, and a university lecturer.

In 1979, Emunah joined Shaare Zedek Medical Center in Jerusalem as a nurse, after immigrating to Israel in 1977 from her home town of Boston. While treating everything from tuberculosis to terrorist injuries, she moved through the ranks of the hospital’s nursing department and earned a master’s degree in the public administration of health care.

Emunah also counsels cancer patients. She sees each day as a gift, and is determined to make the most of every one of them.

Because of her unique experiences as both a nurse and a patient, and her natural speaking ability, she travels around the world to speak on behalf of the hospital.

Nursing is still in her blood. She regularly lectures on quality improvement to master’s program nursing students, and when the call comes for “all available personnel to the ER,” she drops everything and runs to help.

Emunah radiates passion for her hospital, for Jerusalem, for Israel and for life. It is one contagion that she is doing her best to spread.

This event is ideal for doctors and medical students (including related fields)
